Terengganu Fire and Rescue Department urges car owners to keep a handheld fire extinguisher in their cars as it plays an important role in minimizing vehicle damage.
Bernama reported that the department operation assistant director Khir Amir Ahmad said that the importance of fire extinguisher is still not awared by car owners in reducing vehicle damage during fire.
"Car owners rather put expensive accessories in their cars compared to a fire extinguisher," said Khir Amir Ahmad.
He added that during a fire breakout, the fastest and most useful tool is the fire extinguisher before the fire engine arrives. It is proven that fire can spread very fast in the matter of seconds especially for vehicles.
